Michael Gott

Michael Gott, one of Southern Baptists’ busiest and most beloved evangelists, takes his message of hope for people of this earth throughout the world annually. He admits having a personal agenda ‘to be a no-body, telling everybody about somebody who can change anybody!‘Not many men are closer to world events or their meanings than Michael Gott.  His constant travel around the world, his conversations with the news makers themselves, and his hunger to interpret the events in our world in the light of what the Bible says about the future qualify him to speak to the issues that threaten and challenge the human family.  “He seems to have a global grasp of the significance of it all,” a European leader said of him recently.A recent promotional piece for one of his evangelism events reads:  Michael Gott is worth a hearing!  He finds the danger, the hope, and the way out that is so desperately needed today.  His gift is to speak to the everyday man with work-a-day problems.Michael Gott looks at the modern horrors that are upon us — violence, terrorism, despair, moral chaos, loss of confidence in leadership, deception, and confusion — and he, like a prophet, exposes them to the light of eternity.  But he also speaks with confident hope.  “We are not creatures of fate.  We can do something about it before it is too late.  While it is late, it’s not too late,” he said recently in a television interview.Michael Gott is an evangelist, but more and more the comment is made, “He speaks like a modern day prophet!”  His messages are practical, helpful, and insightful.  His warnings are bold; his word rings with truth and grace; his avowed aim is that men, women, and young people will hear, understand, and be transformed.

Jan believes that her first ministry is to stand beside Michael both when he works in the US and in ministry in the 35 countries where they have worked together. Her other life passion is to recruit as many workers as possible for team ministry, and then to organize, equip and train them for effective team ministry in the 10 to 12 ministry events that she and Michael schedule per year.  Jan also leads the praise team and music which has a vital role in international ministry events. She was born in Lubbock, Texas in the West Texas Panhandle. After marrying Michael in 1967, they moved to Scotland where he was studying theology at University of Edinburgh. Their daughter, Amy was born while they were in seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  They made their home for 20 years on a farm near Jacksonville in East Texas where Amy went to school.  When Amy went to Liberty University, Jan joined Michael in ministry full-time.Michael and Jan relocated in 2002 to Keller, Texas near DFW Airport.  Their daughter, Amy and husband Jim Pannell, have two children – Grant and Lauren.  Jan says, “It is a wonderful gift from the Lord to not only be proud of Amy and Jim and the children, but also to share a common life-purpose with them.”Past ministries for Jan include 17 years as children’s ministry team director for the European Baptist Assembly in Interlaken, Switzerland (1981-1997) Jan recruited the 60 teachers and organized the  5 day Bible school each summer for the 200 – 300 children who came from 11 European countries. She personally taught the children in an evening program using puppets and Bible stories – a favorite part of the event.Today, Jan has utilized past years of experience to expand Michael’s program into a well organized team ministry that registers and teaches over 5,000 young people and adults annually in 10-day evangelism events from Cuba to North Africa to Eastern Europe from 1991 to present.

Darla Hull

Office Coordinator

Darla Hull graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a BS in Computer Science and Math in 1993. She then taught high school in Clinton, Oklahoma, located two hours west of Oklahoma City, where her family still lives today. During a revival at First Baptist Church in Clinton Michael Gott noticed qualities in Darla that he felt God could uniquely use. Later when he learned of her skills related to computer and office management, he became aware that God had possibly led him to the person MGI needed for both stability and future growth.Later that same year Darla was part of an international ministry team, and Michael and Jan together observed her Christian devotion, high level of dependability, and warm personality. After several days of prayer they invited Darla to join their staff. She has been coordinator of the MGI home office since 1996 where presently she is continually involved in each ministry project.Darla lives in an apartment adjacent to the office and is an active member of First Baptist Church in Keller, Texas.
